Touring Briefs: Neil Diamond, AEG Facilities, Nederlander
May 06, 2008 - Touring

By Mitchell Peters, L.A.

--To help push his new Rick Rubin-produced album, "Home Before Dark," which dropped today (May 6) via Columbia, Neil Diamond will play a free MySpace secret show tomorrow at the Bitter End nightclub in New York. Since 2006, MySpace has organized more than 100 secret shows for such artists as Rilo Kiley, Franz Ferdinand, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Ray LaMontagne. As previously reported, Diamond will embark on a 37-city North American tour, beginning July 19 in St. Paul, Minn.

--AEG Facilities, a division of Los Angeles-based sports and entertainment presenter AEG, has signed a venue service agreement with the Jobing.com Arena in Glendale, Ariz. As part of the deal, AEG Facilities execs will work closely with venue's management team to provide various support services and resources to enhance existing business practices and revenue streams at the facility. In the past year, AEG Facilities has signed similar deals with San Antonio's AT&T Center, Indianapolis' Conseco Fieldhouse and West Valley City, Utah's E-Center.

--Los Angeles-based Nederlander Concerts has tapped Jamie Loeb as VP of marketing. Based in Los Angeles, she reports directly to Nederlander Concerts COO Alex Hodges. In her new role, Loeb will be responsible for the online development, promotional campaigns and marketing initiatives for the company's venues and at its bookings at third-party facilities. Nederlander Concerts is the exclusive operator of Los Angeles' Greek Theatre, and works with a number of other venues throughout the Western region. Loeb most recently served as senior director of national tour marketing at Live Nation.
