RealNetworks Enhances Video, Music Service

The upgraded version of RealPlayer, RealNetworks' online software that enables consumers to play videos and music online, is now available in the United Kingdom and the United States.
The key difference from previous editions of RealPlayer is that it now features a digital video recorder (DVR). Online users watching an unencrypted video on a Web site now only have to click a dedicated button on the RealPlayer and the video will be saved to the PC's hard drive.
"By making it 'one-click' simple to download, we're changing the way people experience online video," said Rob Glaser, RealNetworks' U.S.-based chairman/CEO in a statement.
There is also a "Share Video Link" feature on the player that enables users to share videos with other users by passing on the video's original link.
