Easterlin To Lead Newly Merged Roadrunner, Lava Promo Staffs December 03, 2007

Veteran promotion executive Mike Easterlin has been named senior VP of promotion at Roadrunner Records.
The move is part of the merging of the Roadrunner and Lava Records promo staffs. Easterlin, who currently head's Lava's promo department, will officially join Roadrunner January 2 and will be based in the label's New York office. He replaces current senior VP of promotion Dave Loncao, who will exit Roadrunner at the end of the year.
A company source confirms that the two promo staffs are merging but could provide no further information about whether any further positions would be eliminated.
Easterlin will manage and oversee all radio promotion activities for Roadrunner as well as select Atlantic releases including Fueled by Ramen.
"We've forged a terrific partnership with Roadrunner since they joined the WMG family last year, and this marks another important building block in our relationship," said Atlantic Records Chairman/CEO Craig Kallman. "Since coming on board at Atlantic two years ago, Mike has developed a fantastic promotion department that has seen great success with a diversity of artists across multiple formats."
Easterlin joined Lava/Atlantic in 2005 as senior VP of promotion. He joined Virgin Records in 1993 where he started as a local and worked his way up to national director pop promotion. In 1999 he joined the Island Def Jam Music Group as VP of pop promotion.
Dave Loncao has been with Roadrunner for nine years. Prior to his tenure with Roadrunner, he built promo departments at RCA and PolyGram. He’s leaving the company to pursue other music industry endeavors after moving to Florida with his family.
