Mercado Rises At BMI

Joey Mercado has been promoted to director of Latin writer/publisher relations and media licensing at BMI. He was previously manager for Latin markets and media licensing at the performing right organization.
Based in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Mercado will report to assistant VP of Latin writer/publisher relations Delia Orjuela and assistant VP of sales and marketing for media licensing Dan Spears.
Mercado will represent BMI at Latin music conferences, work with broadcast clients, affiliate new songwriters and publishers and coordinate BMI's showcases and seminars in Puerto Rico.
