R&B/Hip-Hop Briefs: The Game, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Hudson
June 20, 2008 - RB Hip-Hop

By Hillary Crosley, N.Y.

-The Game has collaborated with Young Buck, Bun B, Jadakiss, Fat Joe, E-40 and Ice Cube for several regional remixes of his current single, “Game’s Pain” featuring Keyshia Cole. The track currently sits at No. 22 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and the remixes will hit radio early next month.

Jimmy Rosemond, The Game's manager, tells Billboard.biz that Young Buck and Bun B will be featured on the Southern “Game’s Pain” remix, Jadakiss and Fat Joe will appear on the New York version and E-40 and Ice Cube will round out the West Coast edition.

The Game and Young Buck are also prepping a duet mixtape hosted by DJ’s Skee, Nu Jerzey Devil and Haze, which is due out in July.

The Game and Young Buck’s collaboration is especially interesting because both MC’s are on the outs with G-Unit head, 50 Cent. Routinely stirring up ire before each of his releases, 50 Cent dismissed Game from his G-Unit camp during his promotion for his 2005 LP, “The Massacre,” and now he’s dismissed Young Buck after the MC claimed to reporters recently that 50 Cent hadn’t paid him any royalties.

However, 50 Cent told Billboard in April that he had paid Young Buck but the money was absorbed by a larger debt, which Young Buck owed 50 Cent.

Game’s album “LAX” hits shelves on July 22 and G-Unit’s “T.O.S. (Terminate On Sight),” drops July 1.

-Alicia Keys recently shot her fourth clip, “Superwoman,” from her “As I Am” LP. The Chris Robinson-directed video will hit mainstream channels in the next two weeks. Keys also collaborated with producer Swizz Beatz for a remix of her current single "Teenage Love Affair" with LL Cool J. The original mix sits at No. 6 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

"As I Am" has sold 3.5 million copies in the United States, according to
Nielsen SoundScan.

-Jennifer Hudson will debut the video for her first single, “Spotlight,”
from her long-awaited self-titled LP next Tuesday (June 24) during the BET Awards pre-show. The clip was directed by Chris Robinson, and will premiere online via Yahoo on June 25. "Spotlight" checks in at No. 49 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
