Mariah Carey was recently recording in the British Virgin Islands for her upcoming as-yet-untitled album, the follow up to "The Emancipation of Mimi," released in 2005.
Bryan Michael-Cox -- who's penned hits for Mary J. Blige and Usher -- is one of the songwriters submitting songs for the project.
Carey's last album sold 5.8 million copies in the U.S. according to Nielsen Soundscan.
