Consumers Turning To T.V. For Music Playback
July 09, 2008 - Digital and Mobile

By Antony Bruno, Denver

The hot new music device these days seems to be the t.v. According to a recent survey by Parks Associates, music fans listen to their tunes through their t.v. set as much as they do via MP3 players like the iPod - a full third of respondents each.

The analyst group points to new home networking networks and placeshifting services for the t.v.'s rise in popularity.

The home computer remained the dominate device for listening to music in the home, with two-thirds of respondents selecting that device.

However, traditional music appliances like CD players or radios were not on the list of options, as the report was specific to digital media.
