Perez Hilton Is MTV EMAs Digital Host

U.S. celebrity blogger Perez Hilton is to host the live Webcast of this year's MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) in the U.K. city of Liverpool on Nov. 6.
The "EMAs" ceremony will take place at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, one of the European Union's two designated European Capitals of Culture for 2008 (along with Stavanger, Norway).
As the live Web broadcast host, Perez' role will include interviewing celebrities at the event, backstage, and extracting gossips during the run-up to the awards ceremony and on the awards night itself. His presentation will be transmitted live on MTV's multi-platform network.
The multi-platform distribution will include the EMAs' dedicated Web sites for MTV Networks different European markets, plus mobile WAP sites.
Hilton, who will also present one of the awards, said in a statement: "I've watched the show every year from the U.S., but this will be my first time attending and presenting."
