MusicChoice has filed suit against MTV Networks and its parent company Viacom over the URGE Radio service. According to the suit, filed today in a Delaware U.S. district court, MusicChoice says MTV’s URGE Radio service violates two MusicChoice patents.
Like MusicChoice, URGE Radio is a digital radio service offered through cable operators. It programs various channels of 24/7 streaming music based on multiple genres, displaying both song and artist information on the TV screen.
MusicChoice is seeking unspecified damages and a court injunction blocking any further use of the URGE Radio service.
