Boosey & Hawkes Expands Synch Operations

May 20, 2009

By By Andre Paine, London

Classical and jazz music publisher Boosey & Hawkes has launched a specialist music supervision service to assist film production companies source music and navigate the copyright clearance process.

The company, which has offices in London, New York and Berlin, has recently worked on new productions including the feature length TV adaptation of "Skellig" starring Tim Roth, Italian arthouse film "I Am Love" and "Coco Chanel and Igor Stravinsky," which has been selected as the official closing ceremony film for the Cannes Film Festival.

The launch of Boosey & Hawkes Music Supervision is part of the publisher's ongoing plans to develop their existing synch operations into a full-service consultancy offering to meet all the needs of the contemporary film and TV markets.

"Our ability to help film production companies source and secure the best music for their projects coupled with our knowledge and experience of copyright clearance will make Boosey & Hawkes a highly compelling offering," said music consultant Jen Moss, who will be developing Boosey's Music Supervision service within the consultancy department of Boosey & Hawkes.

"We already have an excellent roster of our own highly talented composers and a huge and diverse catalogue but in addition we will be looking beyond our own company to secure the right music to fit individual requirements."
