Take That, Madness Win Silver Clefs

U.K. pop act Take That won the top prize at the O2 Silver Clef Awards in London.

Gary Barlow picked up the prestigious Silver Clef Award at the July 3 Hilton Hotel ceremony, which benefits the Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy charity. He also handed over a ?50,000 ($82,000) donation to the charity, raised from the band?s current U.K. stadium tour.

Veteran acts Madness and Queen also went home happy, picking up the icon and ?ambassadors of rock? honors respectively. Other winners included Stereophonics (best British band), pop act La Roux (best new music), rappers N-Dubz (digital award) and Faryl Smith (classical award).?? Beach Boy Brian Wilson took home the international award.

Organizers say the accompanying auction and raffle raised over ?400,000 ($653,000) for Nordoff-Robbins.
