After shuttering its pop-driven Super Estrella format and expanding its "Jose" hits format, Entravision has announced the launch of a new radio format called "El Gato."

Featuring contemporary regional Mexican music, "El Gato" debuted on KYSE El Paso (94.7 FM) on Jan. 6 and plays music by acts such as Hor?scopos de Durango, Intocable and K-Paz de la Sierra.

It also includes Entravision show "Erazno y Chokolata" in the afternoons.

Oswaldo D?az, who voices the character La Chokolata, was previously on the morning drive at Super Estrella. He will also be heard on Entravision's La Tricolor network as of Jan. 12.

KYSE previously aired the Super Estrella pop hits format.
