Veteran U.K. pop act Duran Duran has been announced as the Saturday night headliner for London festival Lovebox Weekender, held July 18 to 19. It will be the band's only U.K. festival gig of 2009.

Main support on Saturday night will be provided by U.S rock/rap crossover act N.E.R.D. U.K. dance act Groove Armada, the festival's founders, will headline Sunday night with support from dance duo Simian Mobile Disco.

Other previously announced acts include newcomers Ladyhawke, Florence and the Machine and Friendly Fires. Further acts are to be announced in the coming weeks.

In 2009, the seventh annual Lovebox will be held on an expanded site at London's Victoria Park.
