Liberman Broadcasting Buys New York TV Station

On the heels of signing an affiliate deal in four Texas markets, Liberman Broadcasting has bought New York television station WASA Channel 25 as part of its bid to launch its Spanish-language network Estrella TV. The network is slated to launch in the third quarter of this year.

The station serves the country?s second-largest Hispanic media market, and is the seventh Liberman owned-and-operated TV station. The company recently signed a digital multicast affiliation with the Communications Corporation of America, bringing its TV programming to Brownsville-McAllen (KVEO), El Paso (KTSM), Waco (KWKT) and Tyler-Longview (KETK).

Liberman owns and operates Spanish-language TV stations in Los Angeles, New York, Dallas, Houston, Phoenix, Salt Lake City and San Diego, as well as 22 radio stations.
