Caliente! Music Festival Heads To Miami

October 19, 2009

By By Leila Cobo, Miami

Caliente!, the Latin music festival that is staged every year in Zurich, will celebrate its 15th anniversary with a Miami edition Nov. 21. The fest will take place at the AmericanAirlines arena and will feature performances by Colombia's Grupo Niche, Puerto Rico's Tito Nieves and Jerry Rivera and Dominican Hector Acosta "El Torito."

This marks the festival's first foray outside of its home base in Zurich, where it is recognized as the prominent Latin music festival in German-speaking countries. Over the years, Caleinte! Has featured performances by a wide array of tropical and pop stars. The festival, which is organized by Sound Managers, an event and music promotion company and label, had investigated the possibility of a Miami version for the past several years.

In a departure from the type of shows typically staged at the AmeircanAirlines arena, Caliente! will offer dancefloor access tickets, VIP seats that include drinks and afterparty access as well as general seating. Tickets range from $32 to $100, but ticket prices will increase as the show gets closer.
