50 Cent and Val Kilmer are set to star in "Gun," a drama set in the world of illegal drug dealing.

The indie project, based on an original story by 50 Cent, starts shooting soon in Grand Rapids, Mich., with Jessy Terrero ("Soul Plane") at the helm. The cast also includes Charles Malik Whitfield.

"Gun" is being produced by Emmett/Furla Films, Cheetah Vision Films and Action Jackson Films.

In 2005, 50 Cent starred in the similarly themed autobiographical drama "Get Rich or Die Tryin'."
