Mun2 scored the best ratings in its history during yesterday?s broadcast ofthe USA vs. Mexico qualifying soccer match for the World Cup. The bilingual cable channel was the only English-language broadcaster of the match, whose rights are held by parent network Telemundo.
According to Nielsen, the game on mun2 averaged 322,000 viewers live and 385,000 viewers when same-day DVR playback of the game was included. The channel says it scored record viewership in the Adult 18-49, Adult 25-54, men 12-34, men 18-34, men 18-49, men 25-49 and men 25-54 demos.
Nielsen?s numbers only reflect in-home viewing, not sports bars or other
public places where the game was shown (such as the Hollywood & Highland mall in Los Angeles). Mun2 was offered to cable and satellite providers for free on game day.
The mun2 Web site holamun2.com saw a 214% increase in unique users on game day, according to the channel.
