R&B Legends Give Voice to Time Life ‘Worship’ CD
March 03, 2009 - Christian

By Gail Mitchell, L.A.

Regina Belle, Teddy Pendergrass and Peabo Bryson are among the soul veterans raising their voices on “Songs 4 Worship Soul.” The 14-track CD (March 3) is the latest entry in Time Life and partner Integrity Music’s popular “Songs 4 Worship” series.

Joining the aforementioned acts are such artists as Ruben Studdard, Brian McKnight, Jody Watley, Evelyn “Champagne” King and Deniece Williams. The selections range from Stevie Wonder’s “Heaven Help Us All” to the Edwin Hawkins Singers’ classic “Oh Happy Day.”

Several of the artists are featured in a TV infomercial airing on BET, the
Gospel Music channel and TV One. Produced by Preston Glass and David Nathan, “Songs 4 Worship Soul” marks Time Life’s second all-original gospel project in the series, which the company reports has sold 20 million units worldwide. The first was The Blind Boys of Alabama’s “Down in New Orleans,” which recently won a Grammy Award for best traditional gospel album.

Here is the “Songs 4 Worship Soul” track list:

“Days of Elijah,” Melba Moore
