ADA Strikes Deals With Defected, Strictly Rhythm

Warner Music U.K.'s Alternative Distribution Alliance (ADA) has struck exclusive international deals to distribute repertoire from specialist dance labels Defected Records and Strictly Rhythm Records.
With effect from April 1, the labels' physical and digital formats will be distributed through the Warner Music Group-owned independent distributor, and via affiliated international divisions ADA Global and Zebralution.
Founded in 1999 by Simon Dunmore, Defected has been a household name in the house music world, pumping out various compilations, mix CDs, and more than 150 singles, including club hits by Roger Sanchez, Junior Jack, Shakedown, Kings Of Tomorrow, Masters At Work and Bob Sinclar.
Ten year's earlier, Mark Finkelstein and Gladys Pizarro established NYC's Strictly Rhythm. It is now one of the most recognizable brands still in the game, with a library of club classics including Real 2 Real's "I Like To Move It," Josh Wink's "Higher State of Consciousness," Ultra Nate's "Free" and Wamdue Project's "King of My Castle."
Strictly Rhythm has a history with Warner Music Group. The label entered into a 50/50 worldwide joint venture with WMG in 2000. But amidst a legal wrangle with the major, the dance specialist ceased operations in 2002.
Finkelstein relaunched the label in 2006 through a strategic partnership with Dunmore.
