Duelo, Horoscopos Break Go Tejano Day Attendance Record
March 19, 2008 - Latin

LOS HOROSCOPOS DE DURANGO
By Ayala Ben-Yehuda, L.A.

Duelo and Los Horoscopos de Durango have broken the attendance record for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo's Go Tejano Day. The event was held March 16 at Reliant Park.

With a paid attendance of 71,165, according to organizer RodeoHouston, the regional Mexican groups drew in slightly more people on March 16 than previous record-holders Ramon Ayala and Jay Perez. The latter two brought 70,481 people to Reliant Park in 2006.

The record-setting Duelo-Horoscopos concert was filmed for live CD/DVDs, which will be released by each group this summer, according to label Univision Records.

Go Tejano Day began in 1992. The annual Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has traditionally been one of country music's most important live events, lasting nearly three weeks. This year's bill included such acts as Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and Alan Jackson. The lineup also featured Fergie and John Legend, as well as all-time Rodeo attendance record holder Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus, who drew 73,459 attendees.
