In the midst of NBA championship fever, Los Angeles Lakers forward Lamar Odom is also gearing up for the first release on his indie label, Rich Soil Entertainment.

Arriving this August is rapper Ali Vegas’ debut album, ”Generation Gap 2: The Prequel.” Prior to signing with childhood friend Odom’s label in 2006, the Jamaica, Queens, rapper had earlier deals with Trackmasters Entertainment under Columbia Records and Tommy Mottola’s Casablanca Records.

“That’s Nothin’” is the first single from “Generation Gap 2,” which features production by DJ Premier, Scott Storch, Cool & Dre and Midi Mafia. Making guest appearances are Akon, Styles P, Sammie and R&B newcomer Deemi.

Rich Soil is distributed through Asylum. In addition to Odom, Rich Soil’s executive team includes director of business development Quinn Rhone, the daughter of Universal Motown president Sylvia Rhone.
