Society of Singers Celebrates 25th Anniversary July 30, 2009

In celebration of its 25th anniversary this year, the Society of Singers is hosting a benefit concert featuring Manhattan Transfer. The Sept. 11 concert will be staged at the El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood, Calif.
The nonprofit organization—headed by president/CEO Jerry Sharell—provides services to meet the emergency financial needs of professional singers worldwide. Grammy Award winners in both the pop and jazz categories, the Manhattan Transfer will release a new CD in September, "The Chick Corea Songbook," through Four Quarters Entertainment.
